A Magnificent Welcome
A personal project inspired by a paragraph from the book 'Bad Popes' by Russell Chamberlain which describes the welcome received by Johann Tetzel who was the Grand Inquisitor to Pope Leo X and who also travelled from town to town selling Papal Indulgences . The crowd includes a few notable faces including Martin Luther, Francesco Ide Medici, Giuliano de Medici, Lucrezia Borgia and Hanno's (Pope Leo X's Elephant) Mahout. Hand drawn, scanned and composed & coloured with Photoshop.
